On Point Baby Quilt

Since I decided I couldn't part with the previous baby quilt, that meant I had no choice but to hurry and make another one! I think it turned out really cute, but I can bear to part with it, whew.

I love machine binding. Probably because my hand work leaves A LOT to be desired! Machine binding just looks so nice and neat.

I've done it enough times now that I have worked out my trouble spots. One important thing I learned was to slow down! Hurrying through it just causes mistakes.

I used a new-to-me FMQ pattern that I learned from Wendy Shepherd's blog.  She has a great series called "Thread Talk" where she explains how she does FMQing.
I love polka-dot bindings! I'm going to have to go back and see if there are polka dots on all my quilts... Have a wonderful day!

There are instructions for this quilt here.

  1. That is adorable! I machine bind all my quilts. I don't have the patience to do it by hand.

Somehow I knew you were gonna keep the other one. This one turned out really cute!

  2. Very cute! It is nice that you kept the quilt you love. As to bindings - I've done one (years ago), and believe me, it was done by machine. :)

Beautiful quilt! Those are some of my all-time favorite fabrics!

I'd love to know more about how you did that binding so perfectly! I just can't seem to get the hang of it!

    talk to you soon!
