OH NO!!

This is awful, and I don't know what to do! My niece had a baby girl and I just finished a top to a quilt I made for her...and I love it so much I don't want to give it away! I'm so ashamed. It's not like it is complicated piecing that I should be proud of or anything fancy, I just LOVE it!

I keep looking at it and asking myself why I love it so much. You might say it is because it has red polka dot fabric in it, and you might be right...but I do have other quilts with red polka dots in them that I haven't felt this way about.

My biggest fear: what if when I have a granddaughter and I make her I quilt -- what if I don't like it as much???

I will be seeing my niece in a week. Can I quickly make another quilt that can be cute, but that I don't fall in love with?

Here is a peek...

What would you do?

  1. Hurry! Make another quilt out of fabric with a child theme. :)

  2. Oh dear, what a dilemma! I have trouble giving anything I make away so I understand where you are coming from. I am sure you will find a solution.

  3. I have given away very few quilts. I love them too much after I have spent so many hours on them. Yes, I am selfish. Follow your heart and do what you think you should do.

  4. I say give it away... There was one quilt I made for a comfort quilt and dearly loved. It was all I could do to give it away. Once I knew how much it was totally appreciated in all respects, it confirmed my decision that it went to the right place.
