Tote for Cutting Mat

I got two large cutting mats when I expanded my sewing area, but they are always stacked on top of each other, and I just use the one on top. That second one is pretty useless!

Then I had this epiphany (or stupiphany...). I cut one of my mats in half! On purpose! It was easier than I expected, I just used my kitchen shears and sliced it in half.


Of course, then I decided that I needed one of those cute totes that I have seen people carrying their mats around in, but I had my own specifications that I wanted, so I made up my own pattern.

I wanted a pocket inside to hold my mat and my ruler flat against the side of the bag. I also wanted a "flat bottom" on the bag, so I would have room to carry all my stuff, and some pockets for other stuff! If you are interested, I am working on a tutorial for how I made my bag, it should be up in the next day or two.
