Quilt Labels - at last!

It's about time, don't you think? I have been intending to do this for such a long time! I have looked at many people's suggestions for the best way to label quilts, and decided to try this for my first experiment.

I found this at Walmart and decided to give it a try. It is printable fabric by June Taylor- I have heard of people doing the same thing by ironing freezer paper to fabric, but for my first try I bought the real stuff. I googled "quilt labels" and found one I really like.

I downloaded it and put it into my word processing program and put in what I wanted it to say. Then I printed it off, and there was no problem getting it to go through the printer. Then I "heat set" it with my iron, just following the instructions on the package.

On this quilt I turned under the edges and hand sewed it down...

and on this one I used "Heat n Bond" to attach it. I haven't washed either one yet, but I will eventually. I have read that both methods work -- we shall see!
