Simple Table Runner

I had some scraps left over from my Halloween quilt so I decided I would use them up in a matching table runner that I can put out through the Halloween season.

I had some strips of different widths left from the fat quarters, so I cut them into 3 inch strips. I laid them out so that none of the similar ones were next to each other.
I sewed them all together...
and pressed all the seams to one side. Then I trimmed the edges straight and divided the width of the strips in thirds and sliced away (sorry I forgot to take a picture, but the next one should do...)
Flip the middle one around. Because the seams were all pressed to one side, now when you sew them together, the seams will all match up so you can butt them against each other and you end up with perfect little intersections!
I like it!

  1. The runner is really cute. I like how the dark ends "finish" the piece.

  3. Are you going for the record here? A project finished in time for the season AND a second one using the scraps (in a beautiful project, by the way!)

    Way to go.
