Nativity Quilt Top

I love this quilt top!

I collect Nativity Scenes - I'm not sure exactly how many I have but I
know it is more than 50 - I'll have to count them again this year when I get them out, but I have several more than I had last year.

When I decided I wanted to make a Christmas wall hanging, it just seemed natural to make a Nativity Quilt.  I was thrilled when I found this pattern!

I finished the top last year, but that was before I had my new sewing machine, so I haven't quilted it yet.  I am planning to quilt it before Christmas this year.

Aren't these little figures adorable?  The shapes are foundation pieced, and have batting inside them so the figures are 3 dimensional.

The instructions in the pattern were well done and easy to understand.  I am so excited to get it finished and hanging up on the wall!

The name of the pattern is called "Christmas!", by Ruth Jensen.  This is perfect for my Christmas decor - now if I can just decide how to quilt it and get busy!  Any ideas???

  1. This is just darling! Simple quilting so it doesn't detract. How is that for being non-helpful? lol

  2. It is Sew Cute! Thanks for sharing it with us.

  3. Absolutely beautiful, daughter-in-law collects Nativities too. I sure hope I can find the pattern. Found your quilt on another blog...Thank you for sharing this in 2011 and now it's "Dec 2014" soon the start of "2015" so--- I would have plenty of time to work on this project and finish it for Christmas 2015!!!

    Merry Christmas and God Bless,

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment!
